WHAT WILL I LEARN IN THIS PROGRAM
Our program will cover both the knowledge and skills needed to become an EKG, Telemetry, or Monitor Technician
This course is designed to prepare you for real-world roles as an EKG, Telemetry, or Monitor Technician. You’ll build a solid academic foundation in cardiovascular care, develop rhythm analysis skills, and gain the knowledge needed to succeed in clinical environments.
Topics Include:
Skills You’ll Develop:
Careers You Qualify For After This Program
You’ll receive a Certificate of Completion, which many employers accept for hiring — especially in telemetry units, cardiac observation floors, and ER settings.
This curriculum meets national training standards for certification exams and prepares you to enter the field with confidence.

Our program is online but what does this mean
A Flexible Online Experience
This program is 100% online and built for real life — whether you’re juggling a job, classes, or just need a flexible schedule. We use Canvas, the same online learning system trusted by major universities and healthcare training programs.
Check out this video the LMS system works
National Certification is Optional — Not Always Required
Hospitals often provide on-the-job training for rhythm interpretation. Your certificate proves you’re ready to start that role.
Careers You Can Pursue After This Program
Our EKG Technician Program prepares you for multiple in-demand healthcare roles — no prior experience required. Whether you’re starting your first job or planning to grow in the field, these are real clinical positions where you can make an immediate impact.
Monitor multiple patients’ heart rhythms from a hospital telemetry unit. You’ll interpret real-time rhythm data and help detect dangerous changes before symptoms appear — often in critical care settings.
Watch heart monitors from a centralized screen and alert nursing staff to any abnormal rhythms. This behind-the-scenes role is essential in ICUs, ERs, and post-operative units where constant monitoring is required.
Program Requirements
You don’t need a diploma or healthcare experience to get started — just the basics to access your course and complete it successfully.
Who Can Enroll:
Note: Some employers may request proof of education during the hiring process, but it’s not required to take this course or sit for the national certification exams.

Your Path to Becoming a Certified EKG Technician
Whether you’re preparing for your first healthcare job or building a foundation for long-term career growth, our program prepares you for two respected national certifications — CET from NHA or CCT from CCI — and helps you enter roles like EKG Tech, Monitor Tech, or Telemetry Tech.
Step-by-Step: NHA CET Certification Path
Step 1: Complete the Online Course
You’ll start with our fully online training program, which teaches:
You can study at your own pace from anywhere — no in-person attendance required.
Step 2: Take the NHA CET Exam
You’re eligible to take the Certified EKG Technician (CET) exam through the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) after completing the course. Because we’re an approved training provider, you can take the exam even if you haven’t completed your 10 live EKGs yet. The computer-based exam takes about 2 hours and is offered both in-person and online.
Important: You can sit for the NHA CET exam after completing this online course.
The 10 required live EKGs are typically completed later — during on-the-job experience or supervised clinical work.
Step 3: Complete Your 10 Live EKGs
NHA requires you to complete 10 supervised EKGs on live individuals — but this can be done after you pass the exam. Most students meet this requirement during on-the-job training in settings like:
Step 4: Become Fully Certified
Once you pass the CET exam and complete your 10 live EKGs, you’ll receive your full NHA certification and can begin working as a certified EKG Technician.
Common Questions About NHA CET
No. You do not need to complete clinical hours before taking the CET exam. The 10 live EKGs can be done afterward
No. Our program is fully online and does not include a clinical placement.
We are a recognized NHA training provider, which means our students are eligible to take the exam first and complete the 10 live EKGs independently, usually during employment in a healthcare setting.
Most students complete their 10 live EKGs after passing the NHA CET exam, during employment in a clinical setting. This is typically done through hands-on training provided during orientation, job shadowing, or onboarding.
Common settings where students complete this requirement include:
Because our program is recognized by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA), you are allowed to take the exam first and meet the live EKG requirement later through supervised experience on the job.
Yes. As long as you pass the exam and complete your live EKGs (under supervision), you meet all requirements for full certification
What is CCI and the CCT Certification?
Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) is another national credentialing organization that offers a variety of certifications, including:
Our course aligns with the CCT exam, which certifies you in EKG, telemetry, Holter monitoring, and stress testing — no clinical hours required.
CCT (Certified Cardiographic Technician) – Overview
Best for: Students interested in diagnostic cardiology, hospitals, or advanced cardiac roles.
Offered by: Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
Eligibility Requirements for the CCT Exam
Most students qualify under this path:
Pathway 1: Completed a formal EKG training program
Our course satisfies this requirement with instruction in:
No clinical hours required
Common Questions About CCI CET
Yes. Our online course prepares you with the foundational knowledge required for the Certified Cardiographic Technician (CCT) exam offered by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI). No clinical hours are required for the CCT pathway, and students can apply directly upon completion of the course.
Which EKG Certification Exam Is Right for Me?
Our program prepares you for nationally recognized certifications — but you may not need one in every situation. Here’s how to decide what’s best for your career goals
Choose NHA CET if you:
Choose CCI CCT if you:
What if I don’t take a national exam?
Not all employers require national certification. Many clinics, urgent care centers, and private offices hire based on your course completion certificate alone.
If you’re:

EKG PROGRAM QUESTIONS
Yes. Our online EKG Technician program provides the academic and theoretical foundation required to take the Certified EKG Technician (CET) exam through the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) and the Certified Cardiographic Technician (CCT) exam through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
No. As a recognized training provider, you can sit for the NHA CET exam without having completed your 10 live EKGs.
However, the NHA requires that you complete them at some point — typically after passing the exam and starting work in a healthcare setting such as a hospital, urgent care, or outpatient clinic.
No. Our program is fully online and does not include a clinical placement. Most students complete the 10 live EKGs after passing the exam and beginning employment.
We are approved by the NHA to offer training without a built-in clinical component, and they allow students to complete the live EKG requirement during on-the-job training or under supervised experience.
Yes. Our course prepares you to take the CCT exam offered by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
This exam does not require any clinical hours, and is ideal for students planning to work in hospital-based cardiac departments, or who want to pursue stress testing, telemetry, or advanced cardiovascular credentials in the future.
Here’s a quick comparison:
Feature | NHA CET | CCI CCT |
Clinical Requirement | 10 live EKGs (can be post-exam) | No clinical requirement |
Focus | Basic EKG, entry-level tech roles | Broader cardiography: EKG, stress, Holter |
Common Settings | Clinics, outpatient, mobile tech | Hospitals, cardiology labs |
Certification Level | Entry-level | Entry-to-mid-level |
Exam Cost | ~$117–160 | $175 |
Yes — in some cases. Many private clinics, urgent care centers, and smaller medical offices hire based on your course completion certificate alone, without requiring national certification.
However, we recommend pursuing national certification (CET or CCT) to increase your job options, especially if you’re aiming to work in a hospital or grow in the cardiology field.
